Most of us are familiar with the movie, “One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest” and the unpleasant nurse. We know she was despised but we also know she was well trained and educated. These days you do not have to have 2 years of college education to get into the health care field. . . you can actually take a six to twelve week course and be functioning as a CNA and earning an above average income. If you complete the training the possibility of getting a job in health care is astronomical due to the fact that there are so many available positions. It’s estimated that the amount of available positions is over two hundred thousand and the main way for those positions to get filled is to offer a wage that is higher than most as that is what motivates many people. Sure, you will have to pay for training but there is help for that as well. Grants and student loans are available and the schools offer assistance in finding that available money. It would be an investment that would pay you back for years and years. If you were so inclined you could easily move up to a licensed practical nurse or even a registered nurse after you get your feet wet and make the move to continue your education. So, knowing that you don’t have to start out with all that training and if you are so inclined take a look at a career in health care knowing that the training is available for almost anyone.
